My Medical Specialty | |
More details about my specialty:I chose to specialize in gastroenterology because I am fascinated by the varieties of disease in gastroenterology which include the digestive tract, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. I also enjoy the challanges of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures such as upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). My specialty interests and affiliations within my field:I find the management of hepatobilliary disease to be particularly interesting and challanging. Great health resources that I refer to:For patient education, WebMD.com is the best, most reliable, and comprehensive source for medical information. The topics are presented appropriately and responsibly. With the internet being the most unregulated source of information ever known, I trust this website's integrity. Our website (members.kp.org) is also quite informative. |

Interests | |
|
I have been participating in competitive sports since elementary school in China. I favorite childhood sport was soccer. After my brother gave me his old mountain bike in 2002, I have been riding and participating in bike races since. I find cycling is the best way to see new places and make new friends. I find participating in outdoor sports refreshing and rejuvenating. Furthermore, it gives me a greater appreciation of the natural environment. |

People in my life:My wife and I moved from Michigan to California after my fellowship training. Even though we both were originally from Florida, we find the northern California weather and environment are more suited for our life style and personalities. |

An adventure I've had:My first 24 hour mountain bike race in Michigan in 2003. Riding through freezing rain and wind with 3 of my best friends was "addictive" and "priceless". |
