Bio

I would like to let you know more about me. I grew up in Southern California and have always enjoyed being active. Much of my recreational time over the years has been spent doing a variety of outdoor activities.

I completed all of my education in Southern California until residency training brought me to San Jose. After finishing my residency, I began working for Kaiser Permanente at the Santa Teresa facility in 1997, and have been a Kaiser Permanente physician ever since. A few years later, my wife and I decided to move to beautiful Sonoma County, and I transferred to the Family Medicine Services Department here in Santa Rosa.

My Medical Specialty

More details about my specialty:

I chose Family Practice as my specialty because I wanted to have variety and breadth in my career. I was attracted to Kaiser Permanente for its integrated care model and its focus on preventive care. Being a Kaiser Permanente physician has allowed me to spend my time taking care of my patients, rather than running a business. Another important benefit for my patients is that I have colleagues in my module who are available for additional patient care, often on the same day. These include physical therapists, health educators, and a behavioral medicine specialist. When a specialist physician is needed, they are available to me by phone or for referral appointments, which I can often schedule while my patient is with me in the exam room.
Another great feature is the availability of health education material that is available to my patients on our website.

Interests

I began playing tennis 30 years ago and have played in a variety of leagues over the years, including junior leagues, High School, college intramural, and adult USTA leagues.

Family & Friends

People in my life:

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also try to keep in touch with the friends I have made over the years from different time periods in my life. Some of my best friends are those with whom I did my residency training.

Travel

An adventure I've had:

One of the more interesting vacations I've had was one I took after residency training. My residency classmates and our spouses took a trip to Jamaica. The tropical atmosphere and beauty were very relaxing and a fitting way to cap off our three years of hard work in training.
