Bio

I have lived and worked in Fort Bragg since 1976. I began working in one of the first "alternative birthing centers" in California. We had one of the first sibling-attended hospital births in the State. I attended Meharry Medical College for midwifery training in 1979, and began a private practice in 1980. I attended home and hospital births until 1999, when I gave up the home birth practice. I love assisting women in childbirth, and I still believe that every birth is a miracle.

I began working at Kaiser in late 2004. I enjoy the great team of nurses, doctors and CNMs who work here, providing exceptional care to families.

My Medical Specialty

Interests

My two little grandsons are the joy of my life. We travel to LA as often as possible to visit them

Family & Friends

People in my life:

My husband recently retired from teaching middle school math. He has many "projects" to finish, and I have quite a list of more, so he will be keeping busy. He also loves being a grandpa!

My children and people I care about:

I have three grown children. My daughter is a teacher, and has two sons. My sons both love to travel, so they work so that they can travel. The have both spent quite a bit of time in South America, and are fluent in Spanish.

My pets:

We have two cats, and usually feed several racoons, an occasional skunk, and a lot of annoying blue jays!

Travel

An adventure I've had:

This year we went to Granada, Spain to visit our son. It was a great trip, and I can't wait to go back. This fall we are taking a long distance walk in England; we will be walking 200 miles across the country, from the Irish Sea to the North Sea. I hope to do it without blisters this trip!
