"My Vision: I see a hospital where nurses thrive and our patients receive excellent quality and holistic care. We are nurses that remember that one of the greatest honors is the ability to care for another human being. We have a strong sense of purpose and accomplishment. We practice an authentic presence and value emotional spiritual well being. Our patients describe us as good listeners, teachers and those they trust to keep them comfortable and safe. Our patients tell us they can count on nursing to fulfill the promise of quality and integrity. We hold our patients in the center of our hands."

"I went into leadership after being a staff nurse for several years. I was asked to be head nurse. It was the opportunity to influence nursing practice and change that led me to say yes. The rest is history..."

"I went into nursing because it was a great way to help people, which I still enjoy doing. I am energized by nursing research and the premises of the caring model. I believe strongly in realizing excellent care though an evidence based approach and the sharing of great ideas. I support a family centered approach to care and look forward to the ongoing development and stewardship of nursing and new nurses."

Nursing leadership was a path that I was encouraged to pursue very early in my career. I have enjoyed a variety of roles within nursing over the years. I especially enjoy the combination of the science and art of nursing which I feel is supported by research and evidence-based practice. I believe in leading by example with integrity and passion. It is an honor to care for people during their most vulnerable time in their life. Working collaboratively with other nursing leaders and staff nurses towards the same vision is very exciting.

"I found myself in a leadership position early on in my nursing career and enjoy the challenges that come with the management role. Having worked in various nursing capacities, I have developed the compassion and understanding of what the healthcare professional at the bedside needs to provide excellent patient care. I firmly believe that leadership is vital to promote a good working environment which in turn leads to a positive healthcare experience for the patient. My vision for nursing is to treat every patient with integrity, compassion and respect. Our patients should experience the same care that we, the providers, would give to our own loved ones. Giving care that not only touches their hand, but also touches their heart is patient care at its best."
