Bio

I have been a proud member of the Santa Rosa Kaiser Permanente medical staff since 2006. I joined Kaiser Permanente after practicing community urology for one year in Northwest Arkansas. I joined Kaiser because I believe in practicing state-of-the-art, personalized medicine within a highly integrated medical group. I work closely with our primary care providers and other specialists to ensure optimal urological care. I enjoy working closely with my patients and encourage each patient to contact me at any time with questions, concerns, and/or updates in their medical condition. For this reason, I find secure messaging an invaluable tool and encourage my patients to take advantage of it.

I was born and raised in California. After graduating from college, I studied chemistry at Harvard University and at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. Being a California native, I did not enjoy the cold weather, and, after graduating from Harvard, I moved to Honolulu, Hawaii. My first job was as a high school chemistry teacher. I loved teaching my 10th and 11th grade honors chemistry classes. I then changed careers and worked as an environmental consultant for both private industry and the Hawaii State Department of Health.

While living and working in Hawaii, I met a loving woman who later became my wife. I also discovered a personal desire to serve people in a way that suited my personality and abilities. I quickly decided that I was well-suited to a career in medicine. I completed my premed classes and left Hawaii with my wife to attend medical school on the mainland.
