Bio

I am an Internal Medicine doctor at Kaiser Santa Rosa, where I specialize in adult medicine. I started at Kaiser Santa Rosa in August 2010. I am board-certified in Internal Medicine, a member of the American College of Physicians, Society of General Internal Medicine, and the Sonoma County Medical Association.

I believe emotional health and a positive outlook are critical factors in physical health and happiness. Savoring simple pleasures is the essence of a happy life, and we should all find our individual pleasures, and make time for them.

HOW I GOT HERE
Originally from the SF East Bay, I am thrilled that my family has made it back to Northern California, and specifically Sonoma County.
I grew up on a horse ranch, and I have always been drawn to all types of outdoor pursuits. I did not know how special Northern California was until I spent 15 years away!
I went to college in Boston, and cherished the new experiences and rowing on the Charles River for four years. After college I worked on Wall Street - in NYC and London. During these years, I learned a great deal about business in this country and in Europe, and had a heck of a fun time too.

I left Wall Street because I sought a career where I could make a tangible one-on-one connection with people daily. I remain fascinated how corporations run from the 20,000 ft view, but my passion is working at the personal level. For me, medicine is satisfying because it combines complex concepts and personal interactions.

I met my husband while preparing for medical school, and we moved to Western New York for graduate school. Living in Buffalo gave me a great appreciation for the kindness and lure of a smaller town life, and beautiful historic architecture. Despite the positives, we had to get back West, to leave cold winters behind, and to be closer to family. Next we moved to Los Angeles, where we continued our graduate training. In LA I loved that I didn't need a wool sweater for a trip to the beach! The traffic and intensity got to us, though, and we sought a place where we could play and work without too much traffic. So now I think we are living our dream - beautiful scenery, outdoor lifestyle, small town kindness, and minimal traffic. Hopefully my kids will appreciate these aspects of Sonoma County as much as I do!

Family & Friends

People in my life:

My husband is a Santa Rosa native, biomedical engineer, avid outdoorsman, patient dad, my best friend

My children and people I care about:

I am entertained daily by our two firecracker daughters Cassidy (3) and Riona (1). Mundane activities morph into special fun times when seen through the eyes of a toddler/preschooler. However, our house has more pink and purple than I know what to do with!

My pets:

Stinson is our chocolate lab. He has remained energetic and loyal despite two demotions in his family rank (as the children came along). I thank Stinson for getting me or my husband out exercising every day.
Someday I'd like chickens, for the fresh eggs.
