David Pastran, MD

Bio

A native Californian and Kaiser member since birth, I have returned to the most beautiful place on Earth after completing my schooling and training out of state.

I grew up in Cotati, attended K-12 in the Cotati/Rohnert Park school district, then spent five years traveling North America and Europe while working about any job that you can think of, including: forest fire fighter, cab driver, drill rigger, pre-school teacher, engraver, bottler, dish washer, barista (pre-Starbucks), forklift driver and general construction site grunt. Next it was off to Colorado for ten years of schooling, then Salt Lake City, Utah, for five years of residency training and private practice.

Being of Irish/Mexican decent I have always enjoyed good food, good friends, and good fun, especially with my family. A proud Godfather of two and cat owner of one, I live in Cotati and spend my free time getting to know Sonoma county again and marveling in how much it has grown. Of note, my proudest moment to date is when I sang lead with the Temptations on the song "My Girl". Seriously, ask me about it.

I am board certified in Family Medicine, which means I like to take care of the whole family from newborns to grandparents, including all aspects of pediatrics, women's health and adult medicine.

I enjoy working with people from all backgrounds and especially have had extensive experience working within the Latino community.

Family & Friends

People in my life:

I am quite lucky in that all of my family lives in or around the Bay Area and they are about the best people you'll ever meet. Most weekends will find me socializing with a least one of my cousins and their family.

Travel

An adventure I've had:

I have been to numerous points on the globe, traveling extensively to Canada, Mexico and Europe. The cuisine of foreign lands captivates my palate and I look forward to new and further travels and culinary experiences.
